Tips for new Lotro players
1. If you are not sure which character to create, roll either one of these, Champion or Hunter. If you are a Champion, make sure you buy the Bow skill when you can, then proceed to step 2.
2. Attack every mob you can, even if some poor sod is running up to it. There's a good chance he'll miss first and you'll get it, even if you are a melee. There's not a lot of mobs in Lotro, so you'll need every kill you can find. Don't worry about that other guy, he's fine, he won't mind spending another hour online to find that last mob you killed that he needed.
3. If you see a mob with a special name, also called a "named" mob, kill it repeatedly. Wait until it respawns again and if you kill it 10x in a row, you will get a special pie via the in game mail system.
4. If you see someone running for a resource node, plant on the ground or bunch of branches, run for it anyway, chances are the lag that is masked by the smoothness of the game will allow you to swipe that resource right out from under that pesky players nose, even if they visually tapped it first.
5. Please continue all World of Warcraft Barrens and Ashenvale conversations in the OOC, Advice and Looking for group channels, this game is too quiet!
6. After the completion of elite or group quest, simply leave the group or better yet, disband, not thanking or chatting with anyone in the group after a successful monster romp.
